Wisconsin Jersey breeders have opportunity to buy and sell Registered Jerseys at two events -- the Wisconsin Spring Spectacular Sale and the Wisconsin State Sale.
The Wisconsin Spring Spectacular Sale is held the evening before the Wisconsin Spring Spectacular Show.
The Wisconsin State Sale is also held during the spring. The sale was the first state sale to be conducted entirely online in 2013.
At this year's sale, 39 lots sold for an average of $1,863.46. Bidding closed in real time on May 12 through CowBuyer.com. The high seller was JX KB Jarrela {4}, who sold for $18,000 to Vierra Dairy Farms and Semex Alliance of Gueph, Ont. The high genomic heifer calf was consigned by Katzman Bros. of Whitewater.
