Congratulations are in order for Wisconsin Jersey breeder, William H. Jenks of Marathon. Two members of his Registered Jersey dairy herd produced records ranked among the country’s top 305-day records of 2019.
Jenks Critic J2788, Very Good-83%, produced 28,380 lbs. milk, 2,332 lbs. fat and 1,170 lbs. protein. On a cheese yield basis, production for the 6-4 record is 4,053 lbs. Nationally, the record ranks second for fat and ninth for cheese yield among records produced by Registered Jerseys in 2019.
Her herdmate, JX Jenks Layne 3030 {4}, Excellent-90%, produced a record of 33,090 lbs. milk, 2,143 lbs. fat and 1,206 lbs. protein as a five-year-old. On a cheese yield basis, production is 4,171 lbs. The record ranks fifth for cheese yield, sixth for fat and eighth for milk.
