Several Wisconsin Jersey breeders will be honored at the annual meetings of the American Jersey Cattle Association (AJCA) and National All-Jersey Inc. in Saratoga Springs, NY, in June.
Wilfred, Walter and Roger Owens of Owens Farm Inc. will be honored with the AJCA’s highest award – Master Breeder. Owens Farm Inc. is a Registered Jersey herd in Frederic. The family bred such notable Jersey sires as “Rebel,” “Rocket” and “Saber” as well as O.F. Lester Ladyslipper, Overall Premier Performance Winner of the All American Jersey Show. The family will be recognized at the AJCA Jersey Breeders’ Banquet on June 29.
Natalie and Wade Kessenich and Brent Young will receive Young Jersey Breeder awards. The Kesseniches operate Kessenich Farms LLC with their parents, Jeff and Robin, in De Forest. Young operates Dority Valley Dairy with his family in Dallas. Young Jersey Breeder awards will be presented at the AJCA Young Jersey Breeders Breakfast Banquet on June 28.
