Wisconsin Jersey breeders have opportunity to buy and sell Registered Jerseys at two events -- the Wisconsin Spring Spectacular Sale and the Wisconsin State Sale.
The Wisconsin Spring Spectacular Sale is held the evening before the Wisconsin Spring Spectacular Show.
The Wisconsin State Sale is also held during the spring. The sale was the first state sale to be conducted entirely online in 2013.
This year, 48 lots sold for an average of $1,606.15, led by the sale of a pair of genomic standouts consigned by Matthew Steiner of Pine Tree Dairy, Marshallville, OH. The high seller, JX Pine-Tree Tyrion Hill 1693 {3}, was purchased by Mark E. Clark, Sumerduck, VA, for $6,100. The second high seller, JX Pine-Tree Got Maid 1307 1666 {4}-ET, sold for $3,325 to Ahlem Farms Partnership of Hilmar, CA.
